When we decided we were going to ride from the top of North America to the bottom of the South, on scooters nonetheless, we hadn’t even taken a good look at a map. Needless to say, we were slightly perturbed by the substantial amount of land that lay between our freshly determined “start” and “finish” points.
North America is the third largest continent in the world, and South America is the fourth. When you stack them on top of eachother you have the longest unbroken landmass on the planet, point to point.
We will begin our journey within the Arctic Circle at an isolated oil drilling station on Alaska’s Northern coast. Between here and the tip of Southern Argentina we will negotiate 16 different countries, 120 lines of latitude, several deserts, about 30,000km of road, the infamous Darien Gap, and God knows what else.
